If you have issues installing your theme using the regular auto install from our server, this tutorial will teach you how to manually install your newly ThemeFuse WordPress theme.
In the archive you downloaded from our website you’ll find a folder called “Licensing & Plugins“. Inside that folder you’ll find another folder called “full wp theme for manual install” that we’ll use to install the theme. We’ll continue to use our Medical WordPress theme as an example for this tutorial.
What you need to do is to connect to your FTP account using your favorite FTP client and upload in wp-content/themes directory the 2 folders (medica-parent and medica-child) from the full wp theme for manual install folder. After you uploaded your files the wp-content/themes directory should have this folder structure. If this is not the case, you’ll get the Stylesheet is missing error.
Login into your WordPress dashboard and go to Appearance -> Themes and activate the Medica Child theme you just uploaded by FTP. This is how it should look:
It is important to activate the child theme. This will enable you to make any modifications to the theme and not lose them when you’ll get a future update to the main theme. (More info to understand what child themes are all about)
After the activation go to the Import menu under the theme name in the sidebar where you could choose to install demo content in the theme. If you choose to do it, the theme will look exactly like the one on our live demo.
This is all. Congrats now you have the theme installed! Enjoy!
