  1. As requested Max I have posted this question in the Envision forum.

The standard height of the slide images used in the envision demo for the slider is 468px high.

I want the slider in my case to be displaying images that are 410px high.

What do I need to change to achieve this?

And will any changes be wiped out when I do any upgrades or can it be included in a child theme successfully?

Also - when I look at the Slider slides - the thumbnails do not appear but when I hover over them I get to see the images. I do not want to use timthumb.php re sizing as I am not convinced it is not a security risk still.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  2. Hi,

Please provide ftp details, it seems be an error on loading the your site.

What about the slider, please provide information about the slider you use, and I will help.

To not lose the changes you make in the theme you have to make all them in the child theme.

    Cheers,
    George

  4. site load error fixed now.

Just to be clear. If there are similar steps to the welcome inn thread below that would be great.

  5. Hi,

I've send the the necessary files and instructions by mail.

    Mail content:
Create this directory in the child theme: theme_config/extensions/slider/designs/animated/static/js

In the js folder add the attached file by me: home.js

Then in the static folder create this folder: css
And in the css folder add the home.css file uploaded by me.

    Cheers,
    George

I tried to send one more time, if it will not work please provide another email address to send the files. The message contains fiels.rar file where are the necessary files: home.js and home.css.

Provide the email address in the Optional and Confidential data section.

  9. HI George,

Updated the files as requested and it does not seem to be picking up the files for the framework from the child theme at all.

  10. Hi,

There is a problem in the seems to be server problem or cache. Once you change the directories from parent theme to the child theme it doesn't recognize the path to files valid.
There may be the problem in the "~" symbol that contains your site name.
Contact your host providers and ask them what may be the problem.

    Cheers,
    George

  11. ok but:

I couldnt get the suggested changes to work when I copied the files2.rar files into the parent theme. At this stage I would be happy with that.

That wouldn't be an issue in the situation you refer to above.

    Regards,
    Mike

  12. Hi,

You don't need to make any changes, all files are in their needed place already, but like I said there is a problem server problem.

We don't recommend to make the changes in the parent theme, in this case you'll lose all information after updating them theme.

If you understand the risk, but however you want to make the changes in the child theme, please provide information about this and I will help.

    Cheers,
    George

  13. Hi George,

I am not sure I follow.

I am happy to make the changes to the parent theme Ioaded the files you provided my home.css and home.js to the parent theme and got the error above. I did not edit them.

The slider works at 468px before the changes are loaded into the parent theme.

As the error I got only happens when the updated files are put in place in the parent theme. Why does this mean there is a server problem and only shows up when changing the two files to the new 410px height. That does not make sense to me.

Are you saying there is a server problem that exists even when the normal slider is running. I cant see one in the console.

Yes any help to resolve this in the parent theme would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Mike

  14. HI,

I have been able to change the parent -theme files and css via trial and error to get it working for me now.

Would like to have it in the child theme and I want to know if framework changes can be done in a child theme. I had this issue in v1.x of the framework and I was hoping it has been addressed.

    Thanks

  16. hi George,'

'That is what I was posting to say. I wasn't sure if you were thinking it was a server problem and it was up to me to fix so I updated the CSS and the home.css and home.js in the parent theme.

So thanks for your changes and help.

I have still not seen V1 or V2 framework file changes work yet in a child theme. This is was what I was saying as my last point.

    Regards,
    Mike
