  1. I recently purchased the (excellent) My Journey theme. However, I cannot (after multiple attempts) change the sticker icon from "Blog" to something else. The instructions on this page did not work: http://themefuse.com/categories-pages-and-posts/add-a-new-category/?t=myjourney

I've also consulted the other threads on this topic, but I don't see an entry noting how to fix the problem.

Can you let me know how I can do it (step-by-step), so that I can change those sticker icons myself as needed.

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi,

First you need know that you can not change the posts icons like category icons. In this tutorial http://themefuse.com/categories-pages-and-posts/add-a-new-category/?t=myjourney, is showed how to change category icon.

For the posts icons exists a special plugin, WooTumblog. You have already it in the plugins list, all you need to do is to activate it from plugins list.

Then when you'll create or edit a post, in the Tumblog box you'll select the tumblog you want to set to the current post and the WooTumlog plugin will automatically give to your post an relevant icon.

    Cheers,
    George

  7. I've tried the Tumblog several times, creating test posts and trying to get another sticker (a custom one I've created, or any of the ones provided in the images folder with the theme) and I cannot get it to work.

Can you possibly take me through exactly what I have to do (using Tumblog) to create a post with a sticker other than "blog"?

  8. Ok, I saw another post here about changing the Tumblog to "Taxonomy" and I have it working now. Thanks for your help!

  9. Ok, I have the Tumblog stickers working, but I am still unable to use the non-Tumblog Categories function to change stickers, which is what I now see that I need.

I want to create standard written posts (say one section is "Blog," another is "Review," and have different stickers for those two sections).

Can you walk me through how to do that? I have tried several times (following the instructions indicated in the URL above), but the "Blog" sticker icon is the only one that shows up when I create Categories and attempt to upload a sticker for a given Category.

  10. Hi,
for posts you can use only one from default tumblogs:
    - blog,
    - audio,
    - video,
    - link,
    - quote,
    - image.
You can't add or rename them but you can change the icons that are used by this tumblogs. So, let's say that you would like instead of audio icon to have another one, you just need to go to images folder of the theme and replace icon-audio.png image with your icon but with the same name.

What about categories. For them you can use specific icons. The icons are uploaded from Custom category icon field. If you would like to have on a page, more than one icons, as you can see on default portfolio page. Then you need to create a category that use portfolio template and then all other ones as child categories (From parent field when you create or edit a category, choose the category that you would like to be main). And then upload custom category icons for all child categories and attach posts to them.

    Hope this would help.

    Cheers,
    Max.

  11. Thanks, Max. Yesterday, I did in fact swap out the Audio icon for a custom-made Review icon, but this solution is not ideal. The Audio tumblog forces you to add an audio link; if you leave the link blank, you still get an audio slider.

I've tried the Category thing several times (to change icons), but perhaps I have not done the child categories correctly.

In the Category function (for changing sticker icons), is "portfolio.php" the ONLY template that can be used to change sticker icons? Or can I use other templates (default, blog)?

If I cannot get that (Category icon change) to work, perhaps I can ask you to create a "Test" post with any icon (other than "Blog") so that I can see how it was done. Would that be possible?

    Thanks in advance.

  12. Max or George,

I have once again attempted to create a post with a custom icon using Categories, and I cannot get it to work.

Can you go to my post "Test of custom icon" (private) and (without using Tumblog) add any non-Blog sticker icon to that post? I have tried to do this, but I must be doing something wrong, as it will not work.

If you do that, I should be able to see what you've done and be ok moving forward.

  13. Hi,
I did in fact swap out the Audio icon for a custom-made Review icon, but this solution is not ideal. The Audio tumblog forces you to add an audio link; if you leave the link blank, you still get an audio slider.

This can be changed from woo_posts.php file located in (library\tfuse_mods\thememodules) directory, from there you can change the layout for each post type.

If I cannot get that (Category icon change) to work, perhaps I can ask you to create a "Test" post with any icon (other than "Blog") so that I can see how it was done. Would that be possible?

It seems that you didn't understood how this works. For posts are used tumblogs, for ALL posts, it doesn't matter that the post is a part of a category or is on a specific category post. You can choose there only one tumblog for a post. There the only way to change the icons to other than default would be to replace default image with the new one. What I told about category icons, those are shown ONLY on portfolio and gallery pages as you can see here or here. Hope now all would be clear.

    Cheers,
    Max.

  14. Thank you. I think it is now clear. I will edit the .php file as you note, and take it from there.
