Uploading images for the Header Welcome Bar, or for the Page Slider is suddenly not working.

When you click on [upload image] you will be able to select from your hard disk the required image and then after clicking [open] the system will just run in a loop displaying continuously: [uploading….] without actually loading any image. This can go on for hours until you force it to stop. No error messages are displayed.
This function used to work very fine before.
What do you think we are doing wrong?

Thank you for the reply.

I have used IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. All the latest versions.

But, I forgot to mention to you something very important and that our website has yesterday migrated to a different hosting account (with the same host) and I believe that the problem now is of permissions (chmod) of Wordpress files.
We have changed the permission levels for the Wordpress folder [wp-content/uploads] To several settings, but the problem remains.
