Free maintenance WordPress plugin

We are pleased to announce our first plugin, available for free download on WordPress.org. WP Maintenance Mode is a plugin that should be used as a placeholder for your upcoming website (if it’s under construction), or for scheduled maintenance while the site is not available.

View the Live Demo here.

The plugin has a lot of useful features, like the time counter up top, which shows you the time remaining until the site reopening. Also, the cool progress bar animation gets the center attention, with very detailed and modern design. In the lower part we have added a few handy features, like Twitter integration, Newsletter sign-up and a zone where you can enter your own custom message to better inform your users of the state of the project.

WP Maintenance mode comes with a great variety of backgrounds created by us, but it can be customized with any background image or color you’d like to better fit you site’s design. The plugin works with WP 3.1 and is not exclusive to our wp themes, so you can use it with your current installed theme that you have on your website.

Now, enough with the talk: download it from here and give it a shot

Great plugin, looks awesome. Sometimes it shuts down wordpress admin. How can you change between the backgrounds?

    • Dimi 22nd March 2011

You can change the background very easy from the admin panel of the plugin. Only need to upload one of the 11 bg that you can find the the bg folder or use one of your own.

Great stuff. Works great on two sites I've shut down in order to fuse them together. No glitches at all. Thank you!

Can't download the plugin or even find it. The link just redirects: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

    • it should be up in a short while. We've updated it and now it's getting reviewed again, so it's a matter of time before it gets re-enabled by WordPress on their site.

  20. Asshu 26th July 2011

Here it is : http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/themefuse-coming-soon/ But I don't understand why the old one was removed and the need to create with a new one

  21. gnarlycrumb 26th July 2011

Let me begin by saying, great plugin! Not complaining just feedback. I just updated the plugin today and noticed two things: 1 - it completely removed the logo I had from the uploads folder (in fact the whole folder is gone). No biggie really, I put the logo in my theme where it should have been in the first place but seemed strange that you would just delete the upload folder and break existing installations. 2 - after fixing the logo, I noticed a white line in the background. turned out if I replaced middle_bg.png with the previous version's it went away. might want to double check that file. Thanks again. This plugin is great for building a site on a live server!

    • Please head over to our Support Forum (themefuse.com/forum) and provide more details about the issue you've encountered with our plugin.

  23. Fripp 23rd August 2011

Hi, How I can I disable it when the maintenance has done? I dont see any obvious disable button as other plugin have. I deactivated it but nobody can see my website any way. HELP PLEASE! THANKS in advance!

  24. Max 23rd August 2011

Hi, go to plugins menu and find there the Themefuse Maintenance Mode plugin and click on Deactivate. When the plugin is deactivated please deactivate all cache plugins you have. If the maintenance page would still be visible (but I don't belive it would) then remove the plugin. Cheers, Max.

  25. Rob Smith 8th September 2011

Hi I'm using the plugin which is fantastic and I like the way it doesn't apply with an admin/reg. user (should post that in the features in the plugin directory!) however I'm using it with WP3.2.1 and IE 9. and it doesn't load the last tweet?

  26. darmazie 21st November 2011

    Thank you so much guys

Hi, remove this code from tf_maintenance-maintenance-page.php file:   Cheers, Max.

      • huh 31st July 2014

        what code???

  30. Harold Read 12th February 2012

Great plugin, but I don't see anyway to change the email address link.

    • Max 12th February 2012

Hi, sorry but I'm not sure what email link you mean. If you mean the one for newsletter, then there isn't a field for this. Emails are saved in database and you can see them in plugin settings. Cheers, Max.

    • NVS 5th August 2012

So how do you get the emails out the database? Once the site is back up, I don't want to see the emails that I've already responded to. ???

  31. Soulfulwriter 24th February 2012

  34. nixonvirtual 6th November 2012

Gentlemen: I am desperate. I posted this in the support forum for this plugin but realize I may not receive a response there so have to bring it here. I am currently locked out of my site. I've used this plugin for several months and this hasn't happened before. I activated the plugin, was working on my site but had to reboot. When I came back, I could not log into wp-admin and now can't do anything. I would appreciate it very much if you would kindly reply . . . soon! Thank you in advance.

  35. nixonvirtual 6th November 2012

Okay, I FTP'd in and renamed the folder to take it offline. There's got to be a better way and I'd appreciate an explanation and some help. Thank you again. I do expect ot hear from you soon.

  36. nixonvirtual 6th November 2012

Additionally, on the Settings page, I can no longer select the HTML tab under content and there's nothing showing under VISUAL. Seems something's just broken and there doesn't appear to be an upgraded version or a fix. What is going on with this plugin?

    • Max 6th November 2012

Hi, please add this question to support forum or send a mail with the problem to support@themefuse.com, please add there wordpress installation link, username and password from wordpress dashboard and I would help with this problem. Cheers, Max.
